Fire Crafted dog leashes were a frequent customer request. We are constantly trying to find new and unique ways of using all parts of the personal protective equipment and hose we acquire. Our dog leashes are repurposed from the Drag Rescue Device (DRD), which is a lifesaving, integrated strap or harness system built into the upper back of a firefighter’s turnout coat. It allows responders to quickly grab an incapacitated or injured colleague and drag them horizontally out of a hazardous area.
The straps are yellow (as seen in the product images), with a sewn in handle. The clip is repurposed from the fly of the firefighter turnout pants, and it is very heavy duty. The tags are purposely left in place, for the dog owner to learn and understand the meaning and purpose of this yellow strap. Leashes come in a variety of lengths, generally from 4′-7′.
